Segerstrom High School’s boys basketball team won its final two Golden West League games this week to gain some momentum for the start of the CIF playoffs.

The Jaguars (10-17. 6-4) defeated Katella 86-38 Thursday night at Segerstrom in the final league game. It was the third league win in a row for the Jaguars.
Gilbert Vargas scored 17 points, Heber Quero 16 points and Isaac Camerana 15 points to lead Segerstrom on senior night. The Jaguars had already clinched a CIF playoff berth.
Coach Eddie Andrade’s team will enter the CIF 4AA playoffs as the No. 3 team from the league. Pairings will be announced Sunday at noon.
