Segerstrom and Anaheim baseball squads got a chance to play at Angel Stadium Thursday afternoon and the two teams battled to a 1-1 tie in a game called after eight innings.
Another game was planned for the evening between Fullerton and Troy so the non-league game at the home of the Angels ended in a tie after one extra inning.

Adrian Villegas hit a game-tying triple in the seventh inning for Segerstrom (12-11-1). Six pitchers combined to limit Anaheim to one unearned run.
Anaheim (13-8-1) used two pitchers. Jillian Albayati pitched the first two innings and Anthony Perez pitched the rest of the game.
Anaheim scored its run when Sonny Rios walked and advanced to third on an error. Then, Derrick Saim had hit into a ground out to the shortstop to drive in Rios.
“Sophomore pitcher Anthony Perez pitched a great game to keep us in the game,” said Anaheim Coach Mike Barrera.
Segerstrom Coach Erasmo Ramirez said his players enjoyed the experience.
“It was a great event for our program and players,” Ramirez said. “It’s a memorable experience that they will always remember. Playing in a Major League stadium isn’t something that many get to do.
“I’m thankful for the Angels, Barney Lopes and Phil Gurule for giving our boys this game. For me, it always brings back good memories of being out there. I always loved pitching in my hometown.”
