Sage Hill High School’s girls basketball team rallied from a 3-point deficit after three quarters to defeat San Joaquin Memorial 51-47 in the CIF State Division II championship game Saturday afternoon at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.
The Lightning (27-10) trailed 22-16 at halftime but put together a strong second half, outscoring San Joaquin Memorial 18-11 in the fourth quarter to win its first state title.

Isabel Gomez scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Emily Eadie had 13 points and 11 rebounds and Kat Righeimer 11 points to lead Sage Hill. Annabelle Spotts had eight points and Zoie Lamkin five points for the Lightning, led by Coach Kerwin Walters.
Meadow Rowland had 10 points and Malaysia Williams eight points to lead San Joaquin Memorial (27-7).
Sage Hill had the rebounding edge 36-34 and made 12 of 14 free throw attempts.
