Rosary Academy’s lacrosse team opened the CIF Division 3 girls playoffs Tuesday with a 13-6 victory over Segerstrom to advance into the second round on Thursday.
Segerstrom, the Empire League champion, kept close in the first half in the match at Segerstrom but Rosary, an at-large team from the Trinity League, took control in the second to half to capture the victory in its first playoff match in school history. Rosary held a 6-4 lead at halftime.
