Crean Lutheran High School junior Koat Keat was named the CIF 2A boys basketball player of the year Monday while teammate Michael Birket was selected first team All-CIF.
Saints Coach Nate Klitzing, who led the Saints to the second CIF title in school history, was named the CIF 2A coach of the year.
Both Keat and Birket, a senior guard, were instrumental in leading the Saints to the championship.
Keat, a 6-9 junior, scored 22 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and dished off six assists to lead the Saints to a 68-58 victory over Agoura in the CIF 2A championship game. Birket added 18 points and four 3-pointers including one in the final minutes which helped seal the win.
Keat averaged 22.4 points a game in five playoff contests and averaged 18.4 rebounds and 1.6 steals. Birket averaged 17.4 points a game in the playoffs and made 58.5 percent of his field goal attempts and 65.3 percent on 3-pointers.
Crean Lutheran finished 20-3 and was the CIF 2AA Southern California regional runner-up.

Servite’s Andrew Cook and Capo Valley Christian’s Mac West were also named to the CIF 2A team.
The teams were presented by the LA84 Foundation, according to CIF officials.
