Long Beach Jordan High School’s boys basketball team ended Sage Hill’s hopes for a CIF title when the Panthers captured a 68-57 victory Saturday in the 4A finals at Marina High School.
Dennis Redmond Jr. scored 23 points, Kane Young 17 points, and Franklyn Chambers 14 points to lead Jordan, which had a 38-31 lead at halftime. Jordan (21-12) jumped out to a 22-15 lead after the first quarter.

Carter Bryant led Sage Hill (15-12) with 22 points and 16 rebounds. Andrew Cobb had 12 points and Johnny Mahew and Shaan Patel eight points each for the Lightning.
Jordan made 47 percent of its field goal attempts and Sage Hill 46 percent. Each team had 31 rebounds.
Both teams are headed to the CIF Southern California regionals this week.
