The inaugural Pacific Coast League Boys Basketball Tournament concluded on Friday at Portola High School. Sage Hill, which went through the league campaign undefeated, got past Laguna Hills 62-50 in the championship game.
Sage Hill went undefeated in the tournament and Laguna Hills won two of three games.
The Sage Hill Lightning were led by 6-8 junior Carter Bryant, who had 28 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and one block. Andrew Cobb had eight points, three rebounds and six assists, Johnny Mahew had six points, six rebounds and two assists and Rocky Lee had six points.
Bryant averaged 33.3 points, 19.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, six blocks and 1.3 steals in the tournament and in the first game scored 40 points against University.
Sage Hill defeated Laguna Hills 52-50 in the regularly scheduled PCL game earlier this season at Sage Hill.
Sage Hill was seeded fourth in the CIF 4AA poll this week. Playoff pairings will be announced Sunday.
The three-day PCL tournament was used to establish the final league standings. Portola Athletic Director Peter Abe estimated attendance for the evening session was 600.
Games in the tournament did not count toward teams’ overall or league records.

Northwood 71, Beckman 68; Zaid Yunis had the late game-winning 3-pointer for Northwood. Yunis had 33 points and six rebounds and Ryan Abaye scored 13 points with seven assists and five rebounds. Cayden Do scored 20 points, Miguel Llanes had 17 points and Sam Evans 12 points for Beckman.
