UNIVERSITY 13, SAGE HILL 2: Senior Austen Barnett led the Trojans to a 13-2 win Friday at Sage Hill. Barnett had three doubles and a single with four RBI and four runs scored to lead the Trojans (3-2, 1-1). Shay Eldridge had three singles with a run scored and an RBI, Luke Weston two singles and three runs scored for the Trojans, who had 12 hits.
Cooper Berger pitched five scoreless innings for Uni, allowing one hit while striking out eight.
The Trojans and Lightning meet again Saturday at noon in a make-up game at Uni to complete the series.
CALVARY CHAPEL 5, ESTANCIA 4: Bennett Molica was 1 for 4 with a triple and a run scored, John Uchytil was 2 for 3 with two runs scored and three stolen bases and Nico Viramontes was 2 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI to lead Estancia (9-2, 1-1) in the Orange Coast League game. Andrew Mits, who allowed one earned run in 6 2/3 innings, took the loss for Estancia, which plays at Santa Ana Tuesday.
COSTA MESA 14, SADDLEBACK 0: In the Orange Coast League game, the Mustangs (6-3, 2-0) were led by Michael Joyce, who allowed no hits in six innings and struck out 14. Wylan Rottschafer was 3 for 5 with three runs scored, a double and two RBI, Grady Jackson was 2 for 3 with a double, home run, and three RBI and Isaiah Mamian 2 for 3 with two RBI.
NORTHWOOD 3, WOODBRIDGE 2: Northwood won its second straight Pacific Coast League game over Woodbridge. The teams have a makeup game Monday at 3:30 p.m. at Ryan Lemmon Stadium.
