PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE
IRVINE 6, WOODBRIDGE 3: The Vaqueros captured the first of a two-game series with a win on Wednesday at Ryan Lemmon Stadium.
“It was a great win for us against a quality opponent,” said Irvine Coach Gabriel Cota. “Any time this rivalry game is played it’s a fun competitive atmosphere. We had some great at bats against a very good arm.”
Hudson Hall was 2 for 3 with three RBI, Matthew Sandoval was 1 for 1 with two doubles and an RBI, Alex Cho was 1 for 2 with two runs scored and Jack Dressendorfer was 1 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored to lead Irvine (9-11, 4-3).
Drake Brito pitched 5 1/3 innings striking out five and allowing three runs and four hits. Roshan Patel finished on the mound, pitching 1 2/3 scoreless innings, striking out one.
Vince DeMarco pitched the first five innings for Woodbridge (14-6, 3-4). He allowed no earned runs, two hits and struck out three. He was also 1 for 3 with a run scored and two RBI. Nolan Stottlemyer was 2 for 4 with a run scored.
Woodbridge plays at Irvine Friday to wrap up the series.

CRESTVIEW LEAGUE
CYPRESS 3, VILLA PARK 0: The Centurions (12-8, 4-1) were led by Wyatt Rosales, who got the win on the mound and was 1 for 2 with a double and two RBI. Rosales pitched five innings allowing two hits and striking out three. Drew Slevcove earned the save. Garret Rodriguez was 1 for 3 with a run scored, Greg Prophet was 1 for 2 with a run scored and Paul Dominguez was 1 for 2 with a run scored. Cypress is tied with Foothill for first place. Cypress plays at Villa Park (13-5, 2-3) Friday.
FOOTHILL 5, EL DORADO 2: The Knights (15-5, 4-1) were led by Gavin Lauridsen, who got the win pitching six innings allowing six hits, one earned run and striking out 12. Kyle Telson earned the save. Lauridsen was also 2 for 3 with two doubles, a run scored, RBI and a walk; Sean Green, who was 2 for 3 with a double and a run scored; Daniel Troncale who was 1 for 2 with two RBI and Aidan Colburn, who was 0 for 2 with a run scored and an RBI. The Knights are tied with Cypress for first place.
TRINITY LEAGUE
SERVITE 1, MATER DEI 0: The Friars (12-5, 3-2) were led by winning pitcher Talan Larson, who pitched a three-hit shutout and struck out five. Avery Jones was 3 for 4 with a run scored and Miles Scott, who had the RBI.
SEA VIEW LEAGUE
MISSION VIEJO 9, EL TORO 8: Carson Browning was 2 for 4 with a double, two runs scored and four RBI, Jack Boucher was 2 for 4 with a walk and Justin Garner earned the win, pitching two innings, allowing two hits and striking out two to lead the Diablos (10-10, 2-3).
