CREAN LUTHERAN 5, SAN JUAN HILLS 1: Crean Lutheran won its first game at the Anaheim Lions Tournament Saturday. Ian McDermott earned the win, allowing one earned run and striking out three. Brady McKay was 1 for 1 with two walks, an RBI and a stolen base and Quinn Tucker was 1 for 3 with a double and three RBI.
CREAN LUTHERAN 11, CALIFORNIA 2: In Crean Lutheran’s second game of the day at the Lions Tournament, Ethan Chavez earned the win for the Saints, allowing no earned runs in four innings and striking out four. Davis Rutten was 3 for 3 with two RBI and Ethan Haugsland was 2 for 4. Crean Lutheran (8-2) plays in the Lions Tournament again on Monday vs. Roosevelt.
CYPRESS 2, BISHOP AMAT 1: The Centurions (6-4) captured a non-league win Saturday at home. Paul Dominguez hit a two-run home run in the first inning to power Cypress to the win. Nick Nelson got the win and Drew Slevcove the save. Connor Artaserse pitched two innings allowing two hits, Nelson threw three innings allowing one hit and striking out one and Slevcove pitched two innings, allowing three hits and a run and striking out four.
SERVITE 5, LAKERIDGE 0: The Friars (8-2) got great pitching from Toby Kwon who allowed five hits and no runs and struck out a career-high 11 in five innings in the Anaheim Lions Club Tournament game. Shane Wendler pitched two innings, allowing no runs and no hits and striking out four. Tomas Cernius and Hayden Woodson had RBI for the Friars.
