CYPRESS 64, EDISON 63: The Centurions jumped out to an early lead and led 39-25 at half. The Chargers battled back to take the lead with 11 seconds left in the game. However, King Birdsong was fouled with 7.7 seconds left and made both free throws to seal the victory.
“Coach (Josh) Beatty did a heck of a job making an adjustment at halftime to create more scoring opportunities for his two guys,” said Cypress Coach Derek Mitchell. “I thought our defense really did a good job in the first half. Unfortunately, we kept fouling to let them back in the game.”
