OC week four includes busy Thursday schedule and one game on a campus field

Week four of high school football in Orange County will include a full schedule of games on Thursday, Sept. 14 and an early kick-off time for a non-league showdown between Northwood and Crean Lutheran on Friday, Sept. 15.

A number of games have been moved to Thursday due to the start of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year that begins on sundown Friday, Sept. 15 and ends at sundown on Sunday, Sept. 17.

On Thursday, Sept. 15, Woodbridge will play its first ever football game on its campus field at 4 p.m. vs. Dana Hills, according to co-athletic director Ryan Brucker. The Warriors normally play their home games at University High.

The Warriors’ lower-level teams use the campus field for games.

Bleachers were installed on the campus field about three years ago so there will be seating for fans, Brucker added.

University (2-2) will be playing Thursday night at 6:30 vs. Savanna (0-4) at University while Portola will host Katella and Irvine will host Laguna Hills in 7 p.m. games Thursday.

Among the other games Thursday is a battle of Huntington Beach between Marina and Huntington Beach at Huntington Beach. Marina won a wild 42-32 game over Redlands Thursday night.

An Orange Coast League opener between St. Margaret’s and Santa Ana at Santa Ana Stadium at 7 p.m. is also on the schedule.

Also on Thursday, Rancho Alamitos will face Godinez at Santa Ana Valley and Eastlake from the San Diego Section will play Villa Park at Fred Kelly Stadium.

Friday games

On Friday, kick-off will be at 5:30 p.m. for the Northwood vs. Crean Lutheran game at Crean Lutheran. Northwood is coming off a 28-7 victory over Valley View while Crean Lutheran had a bye.

La Habra will play at El Modena. El Modena defeated Segerstrom 35-9 Friday night. Esperanza will play at Westminster Friday at 7 p.m. In another intriguing match-up, Tustin (4-0) plays at Trabuco Hills (3-0) Friday night at 7.

Calvary Chapel, coming off a non-league victory at Carpinteria, opens Orange Coast League play Friday at 7 p.m. at Costa Mesa.

Brea Olinda (3-1) hosts Fullerton (2-2) Friday night at 7.
