Orange County high school teams will be participating in the Los Angeles Chargers Girls Flag Football Invitational Saturday, Aug. 19 at the Jack Hammett Sports Complex, the pre-season training facility of the Chargers. The facility is next to Costa Mesa High School.
Girls flag football is beginning its inaugural season as a CIF approved sport.

1 p.m. Long Beach Poly vs. Woodbridge
Field 2:
10 a.m., Mira Mesa vs. Narbonne
11 a.m., LB Poly vs. Beckman
noon, Narbonne vs. Mira Costa
1 p.m., Sierra vs. Corona del Mar
Field 3:
10 a.m., San Juan Hills vs. Lakewood
11 a.m., Woodbridge vs. Serra
noon, University vs. Lakewood
1 p.m., Mira Mesa vs. Newport Harbor
Field 4:
10 a.m., Patrick Henry vs. Mira Costa
11:30 a.m., Newport Harbor vs. LB Wilson
1 p.m., St. Joseph vs. Beckman
High school teams are allowed 28 games during the season, which runs until Saturday, Oct. 28.
