Orange County high school boys volleyball teams, including CIF Southern Section champions from this weekend, continue play this week in the CIF Southern California Regional Championships.
Play begins on Tuesday, May 17 and continues on Thursday, May 19 with the finals on Saturday, May 21 at designated home sites.
There are four divisions with matches scheduled for 6 p.m. There will also be four divisions in Northern California and a regional champion declared.
In Southern California, Division 1 champion Newport Harbor is seeded first in Division 1. The Sailors will host No. 8 Servite Tuesday.
No. 4 Beckman, which was elminated in the CIF Division 1 playoffs in the semifinals by Loyola, is seeded fourth and hosts Mira Costa Tuesday at 6 p.m. The winner moves on to face the Newport-Servite winner Thursday.
No. 6 Tesoro (the CIF Division 2 champion) plays at Cathedral Catholic.
In Division II, No. 6 St. Margaret’s, the CIF Division 4 champion, plays at No. 3 Westview.
In Division III, Capo Valley Christian (the CIF Division 4 runner-up) receives a first round bye and will meet the winner of No. 4 Sunny Hills (CIF Division 5 champion) and No. 5 Arroyo Grande which will be played at Sunny Hills.
In Division IV, CIF Division 6 runner-up Saddleback hosts No. 6 Narbonne. The winner moves on to face the winner of No. 2 Monrovia (Division 6 champion) and No. 7 Los Angeles.
Teams with the higher seeds will earn home matches after the first round. Tickets will only be available through the GoFan app and are priced at $9 for general admission for the first two rounds and $12 for the finals.
