GOLDEN WEST LEAGUE
Ocean View 67, Katella 63: Senior Brayden Ackerman led Ocean View with 34 points in the league opener at Ocean View Wednesday night. Sophomores Cavin Flanagan had nine points and Chris Vincent eight points for Ocean View (12-7 overall.)
Katella battled back in the fourth quarter behind junior Dillon Curtis who had 22 points (14 in the fourth quarter). Senior Cristian Moreno Garcias had 15 points (six in the fourth quarter) for Katella (5-11 overall). The Knights cut a 18-point deficit down to three on a lay-up at the buzzer. Katella (5-11 overall, 0-1 in league) hosts Westminster Friday, while Ocean View travels to Godinez Friday.

Los Alamitos 80, Laguna Beach 69: The Griffins (15-3) won a crossover game at home. Liam Gray scored 21 points, Trent Minter 14 points, Samori Guyness 13, Jordan Taylor 12 and Isaiah Wempe 10.
Newport Harbor 61, Marina 49: The Sailors (17-2) won a crossover game at Marina. Riggs Guy had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Jack Berry and Cole Leinart had 14 points each for Newport Harbor.
CENTURY CONFERENCE
Foothill 58, El Modena 21: The Knights (11-6) won their conference opener. Isaiah Bernard had 21 points, five rebounds, two blocks and two assists; Rocco Gaffoglio had 12 points and two assists; Danny Kennard had 10 rebounds and Kai Nixon five assists and five steals for the Knights.
TRINITY LEAGUE
Santa Margarita 63, Servite 41: The Eagles (14-4 overall) won their Trinity League opener. Dallas Washington had 21 points and four 3-pointers to lead Santa Margarita. DeMarco Johnson had 12 points and four assists, Brayden Kyman 11 points and four rebounds and Cameron McNamee eight points and four steals for the Eagles. RJ Chastang led Servite with 17 points.

GOLDEN WEST LEAGUE
Godinez 49, Segestrom 44: The Grizzlies won their league opener at home Wednesday night.
Brianna Lopez scored 11 points, Mayra Soltero and Valeria Arco nine points each and Julissa Mota eight points to lead Godinez.
“I was very proud of how we came out the gate and started hot,” said Godinez Coach AJ Alaman. “Our attacking the basket and ball movement put us in great position to knock down open shots. They’re a well-coached team and I knew Coach (Shonyta) Pouncey was going to have them ready.
“After we built that big lead in the first half , IÂ told my girls at halftime to be ready for their run. As expected, it got close in the fourth quarter. I’m proud of how we held our composure and closed the game out.”

Canyon 51, El Dorado 45: Canyon was led by Jasmine Prajitno, who had 21 points and
Justine Prajitno, who had 10 points. Mariah Streeter and Sofi Majidi each had nine points.
