NORTH-SOUTH CHALLENGE
Newport Harbor 63, Tesoro 53: The Sailors won one of the games at the day-long event at Tesoro. Newport Harbor (10-2) was led by Riggs Guy who had 20 points and eight rebounds. Newport Harbor faces Alemany Friday at 7 p.m. in the semifinals of the Western Tournament at Western High School. Elsinore meets Mary Star Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Garden Grove in the other semifinal.
Tustin 54, Aliso Niguel 40: Johnny Sagarino scored 20 points, John Villagrana 13 points and Terrelle Morales 10 points and 14 rebounds to lead Tustin (8-6).
San Clemente 68, Northwood 55: San Clemente (12-4) was led by Christian Fernandez, who had 18 points and four 3-pointers. Porter Hansen had 14 points and nine rebounds, Will Whidden 10 points and 10 rebounds and Chase Toliver nine points. Zaid Yunis had 24 points and Ryan Abaye 10 points to lead Northwood.
Cypress 85, San Juan Hills 78: The Centurions had five players in double figures to capture the win. Michael Wright with 21 points (two 3-pointers) and 10 rebounds. Ryan Gov scored 19 points. Jackson Houston had 12 points and Jonah Kim and Kingston Birdsong 10 points each.
“We came out and played well after losing to Edison last game,” said Cypress Coach Derek Mitchell. “The boys were locked in from the beginning. San Juan Hills has a lot of grit and made some tough shots down the stretch. It was a great event by Steve (Tesoro coach Garrett). I hope we (the North) were able to pull off the overall win vs. the South County this year.”
Cypress competes in the Las Vegas Prep Tournament beginning Tuesday.
NON-LEAGUE
Huntington Beach 81, University 74: The Oilers were led by Oliver Nakra, who had a game-high 40 points. The Oilers trailed by seven points after three quarters before rallying for the win. Nakra had 18 points in the fourth quarter. He had seven 3-pointers. Kai Labistre had 14 points and Aden Jones nine points for the Oilers (11-3).
University (5-11) was led by Christian DeBarge, who had 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Isaac Evans also had 20 points and five 3-pointers and seven rebounds for Uni. Andrew Bogard added 12 points and eight rebounds and Josh Thio had nine points and three 3-pointers.
Woodbridge 46, Capistrano Valley 45: Stephen Lamp had 18 points and JC Schindler 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists to lead the Warriors (7-5) to a road victory.
Servite 76, Savanna 60: The Friars (6-3) were led by RJ Chastang, who had 17 points and Jake Schutt, who had 10 points.
ORANGE COAST LEAGUE
Calvary Chapel 69, St. Margaret’s 58: Calvary Chapel (8-6, 3-1) was led by Ben Devries who had 18 points and Brannon Berry, who had 16 points. Carson Franklin and Jorden Embry had 12 points each. Cameron Danz led St. Margaret’s with 25 points.
Estancia 61, Saddleback 35: The Eagles (12-2 overall) remained atop the league standings with a 4-0 record.

Portola 61, San Juan Hills 59: Portola (11-2) was led by Nina Saiki, who scored 20 points. Kalynne Abraham-Mendez had 15 points and Kara Niho 11 points. Aryanna Hudson had 26 points and Sydney Peterson 12 points to lead San Juan Hills (8-6).
Woodbridge 64 Tesoro 22: The Warriors (9-4) were led by Teagan Burrus with 13 points and Lizzie Yasui with 12 points.
