SANTA ANA VARSITY TOURNAMENT

Newport Harbor 53, La Habra 48: The Sailors (2-0) were led by Jack Berry, who scored 13 points and Cole Leinart and Dashielle Bastedo, who had 10 points each. Newport Harbor moves on to the semifinals of the tournament Friday vs. San Juan Hills.

Yorba Linda 72, La Quinta 38: The Mustangs were led by Kobe Pietsch, who had 19 points and Orlando Laws, who had 10 points.

Woodbridge 49, El Dorado 35: The Warriors (2-1) were led by JC Schindler, who had 12 points, 14 rebounds, four steals, two blocks and two assists. Stephen Lamp had 11 points and Jason Briggs 10 points, four rebounds, three blocks, three assists and two steals. Noah Barker had 18 points to lead El Dorado (1-2).

Damien 61, Villa Park 54: Mal Johnson led Villa Park with 20 points, four rebounds and four assists. Dakari Harris had 14 points and Isaiah Labat 10 points for Villa Park.

Ocean View 73, Kingman, Ariz. 38: The Seahawks were led by senior Brayden Ackerman, who had 18 points. Sophomore Calvin Flanagan added 14 points including four 3-pointers and senior Aaron Phan had 13 points. Wesley Larson led Kingman with eight points. Ocean View plays Verdugo Hills Thursday night in the quarterfinals.

BYG TIP-OFF CLASSIC

Foothill 67, Westchester 31: Rocco Gaffoglio scored 11 points, Mansur McClain had 10 points and five rebounds, Lorenzo Turner had 10 points, Isaiah Bernard had nine points, eight rebounds and five assists, Travis Paleo had nine points and Danny Kennard eight points and seven rebounds to lead the Knights in their season opener at Westchester. Foothill plays Redondo Union Saturday at the Braves Tip-off Classic at St. John Bosco.

NON-LEAGUE

Mission Viejo 56, Irvine 39: Irvine was led by Cooper Stearns, who had 20 points, eight rebounds, one steal and two blocks.

Tarbut V’ Torah 97, Nova Academy 15: The Lions (2-0) were led by Yonah Light, who had 28 points. Isaa Joelson had 16 points and Ari Veron and Graydon Carpet had 12 points each for TVT.

Girls basketball

Portola 60, St. Margaret’s 36: Portola was led by Amelia Booth, who scored 20 points. Kalynne Abraham-Mendez, had 12 points and Audrey Shiono 10 points for the Bulldogs.

Pacifica Christian 55, LB Millikan 44: Lauryn Ham scored 20 points and made six 3-pointers to lead Pacifica Christian. Caylie Villagrana had 13 points and five assists and Alexia Valencia seven points and five steals.
