TRABUCO HILLS 5, TUSTIN 2: The Mustangs (21-5) celebrated senior day with a non-league win Saturday. Nick Thomas pitched seven innings, striking out eight and allowing three hits and one earned run. Tyler Collins was 1 for 2 with a two-run home run, Nick Perez was 2 for 3 with a single and a double, Drew Barretyt was 1 for 3 with a single and Garrett Strenger was 1 for 1 with a double.
ESTANCIA 12, WHITTIER CHRISTIAN 4: The Eagles (21-5, 8-5) recorded a non-league win Saturday at Estancia.
The team tied the school record in wins with the 1989 team that finished 21-7, according to Coach Nate Goellrich.
James De La O (2-0) got the win, pitching 2 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing two hits and no earned runs and striking out two.
John Uchytil was 2 for 2 with two runs scored, Â De La O was 1 for 3 with three runs scored and two RBI and Andrew Coyotzi was 1 for 3 with a run scored, four RBI, and a three-run double.
Estancia resumes Orange Coast League play Monday at 3 at Santa Ana, then plays the Saints Wednesday at 7 p.m. at TeWinkle Park. Estancia needs one win to clinch third place and a CIF playoff berth.
