Senior Spencer Sellwood and junior Chris Pukszta had two goals. In his high school debut, freshman Leo Giessmann scored two goals.
Sophomore Cameron An led the team with four assists.
Senior Goalie Noah Pendleton started off the season with six saves and two assists.
“We knew that this was going to be a tough matchup since Tesoro is well coached and has a lot of bigger and stronger players than us,” said Northwood Coach Kyle Kim-E. “We know that we’re going to have to be smarter and quicker than all of the teams that we play this year. We also have a very young, inexperienced team with only five returning varsity players.
“We have a number of things to work on but I think that we have a promising season ahead of us, assuming we stay focused and motivated at each practice and game.”
