NEWPORT HARBOR 6, LA HABRA 2: The Sailors got a strong pitching effort Thursday from Trent Liolios, who struck out seven in five innings. Newport Harbor (4-1) was also led by Joey Wright, who was 1 for 2 with two walks and two runs scored; Bryce Blaser, who was 1 for 4 with a home run and two RBI; and AJ Guitron-Moore, who was 1 for 2 with two RBI.
PACIFICA 2, EL DORADO 1: The Mariners (4-1) were led by Chad Gurnea, who had seven strikeouts in six innings, allowing three hits. Aidan Colin got the save with one inning of relief. He also was 2 for 3 with a double and a run scored.
SERVITE 5, EL MODENA 0: The Friars (4-0) captured a victory in the semifinals of the Loara Tournament. Mikiah Negrete pitched six innings, allowing three hits and striking out seven. Roman Martin had a grand slam for Servite.
SUNNY HILLS 5, SAVANNA 1: The Lancers (4-1) wrapped up the Newport Elks Tournament with a victory. Darian Choi pitched a complete game allowing no earned runs and striking out 10. Niko Mendez was 3 for 3 with a run scored and and an RBI. Ethan Johnson was 1 for 4 with two RBI. Choi also had a hit and an RBI.
TESORO 4, ST. JOHN BOSCO 3: Tesoro (4-0) wrapped up the Newport Elks Tournament with a victory. Jackson Freeman pitched the first five innings allowing three runs and striking out two. Kyle Volpe came on to record the save. Hunter Sabiatura was 3 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI.
ESTANCIA 11, AZUSA 4: The Eagles (6-0) got a strong pitching effort from Trevor Scott. Scott (2-0) pitched six innings, allowing three earned runs and striking out four.
Andrew Coyotzi was 2 for 4 with two runs scored, Jack Moyer was 3 for 4 with a run scored and four RBI and James De La O was 1 for 1 with two walks, one run scored and five RBI. He belted a grand slam in the sixth inning.
FOOTHILL 7, TORRANCE 1: Gabe Garcia got the win for the Knights, pitching three shutout innings and striking out three. Aiden Taurek was 2 for 2 with a double and three RBI, Austin Overn was 1 for 1 with a triple and three runs scored and Brady Schrank was 2 for 3 with two doubles and three RBI to lead Foothill (3-2).
CORONA DEL MAR 9, WOODBRIDGE 1: The Sea Kings captured a non-league victory at Ryan Lemmon Stadium. Max Lane had a grand slam for CdM.
FULLERTON 4, WEST RANCH 1: Fullerton (4-1) got a strong pitching effort from Sebastian Fany who pitched 5 2/3 innings, striking out three and allowing three hits.
