OC Sports Zone: Community First

CdM, Estancia, Woodbridge, Servite, Villa Park, Laguna Beach, Ocean View, La Habra and Tesoro baseball teams win

CORONA DEL MAR 7, HEMET 1: Brycen Hill got the win Tuesday throwing five scoreless innings allowing two hits and striking out six for CdM (2-2). Van Sidebotham led the offense going 2 for 3 with a home run and double. Ethan Watson was 2 for 3 with two RBI.  Dillon Lane, Jack Salmon and Charlie Mannon all had doubles.

ESTANCIA 11, SANTA ANA VALLEY 0: Estancia won the game, called after five innings on Tuesday.  Miles Moyer (2-0) got the victory, pitching three innings, allowing one hit and striking out three.

Andrew Coyotzi was 2 for 3 with two runs and three RBI, Blake Peck was 2 for 2 with a run scored and two RBI, Jack Moyer was 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI, John Uchytil was 2 for 2 with two runs scored, an RBI and a double and Cole Lefebvre was 1 for 1 with a run scored and a double.

Estancia (5-0) travels to Azusa for a 3:15 p.m. game Thursday.

WOODBRIDGE 17, MISSION VIEJO 5: The Warriors (2-2) were led by Sean McCance, who had three hits, two runs scored and four RBI; Matthew Kuromoto, who had three hits, three runs scored and two RBI; Chase Quezeda, who had two hits, one run scored and two RBI and Brandon Abernathy, who had two hits, one run scored an an RBI.

McCance pitched the first four innings before being relieved by Kuromoto.

SERVITE 16, FULLERTON 7: The Friars (3-0) belted five home runs in the non-league game Tuesday. Roman Martin, Trevor Schmidt, Mikiah Negrete, Agustin Gutierrez and Jonathan Rodriguez all hit home runs.

Jarrod Hocking had a four-hit day and Chris Grothues got the win on the mound. Hocking, Gutierrez and Schmidt all had three RBI.

VILLA PARK 4, PACIFICA 0: Zach Brown pitched well for five innings to get the win for the Spartans (3-0). He allowed one hit and struck out six. Sophomore Justin Tims was 3 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBI.

LAGUNA BEACH 2, KENNEDY 1: The Breakers were led by pitcher Shea Blanchard who went six innings, allowing one run on five hits and striking out two. Joey Capobianco threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. He recorded the last three outs to record the save for the Breakers (3-2).

OCEAN VIEW 6, JW NORTH 0: Spencer Johnsen had a strong pitching effort for the Seahawks (4-1), striking out seven in five innings.

LA HABRA 6, IRVINE 2: The Highlanders were led by Peyton Lee, who was 2 for 3 with three RBI. Issac Aguirre pitched three innings striking out three. Maddox Moreno picked up his first win. Justin Martinez pitched two solid innings.

TESORO 2, LAGUNA HILLS 1: The Titans won behind the pitching of Colton Dahl, who pitched a complete game. He allowed two hits and struck out eight.
