Santa Margarita and Crean Lutheran boys basketball teams competed Saturday night for the CIF 2AA Southern California Regional championship in one of the last basketball games of the season.
Santa Margarita recorded its third consecutive win on the road to win, 66-53, in front of about 1,000 fans who packed into the cozy Crean Lutheran gymnasium. Extra bleachers were brought in and placed behind the baskets to accommodate the large crowd.
The fans stayed until the final buzzer sounded.
Both coaches, Santa Margarita’s Justin Bell and Crean Lutheran’s Nate Klitzing, were proud of their’s team efforts. Crean Lutheran finished 20-3 and captured the CIF 2A championship, the second in school history. To see photos and a game story, please click here.
