Marina High’s baseball team captured a wild 10-6 victory over Trabuco Hills Tuesday afternoon.
Long Beach State-bound senior shortstop Rocco Peppi led off the game with a homer to left field for Marina. Peppi was 3 for 3 with three runs scored, two RBI, a home run and two doubles in the game.
Junior right fielder Gavin Langer then hit a two run homer in the second inning.
Marina’s leading hitter David Mashburn continued his torrid start to the season. On the day, he was 3 for 4 with three runs scored, an RBI and two doubles.
Trabuco Hills answered with two homers of their own, but the duo of Trevor Lanksbury and Chad Lux made the Vikings’ 10-run outburst hold up. Lanksbury pitched four innings, striking out six to get the win. Lux pitched three innings to get the save.
Marina outhit Trabuco Hills 11-6.
