Corona del Mar’s baseball team captured a 12-3 non-league victory over Costa Mesa Saturday at CdM.
Brenden Morris, Ryan Borquez (4-1) and Matt Wilks all threw well for the Sea Kings. Borquez got the victory.
“There was a rare four-pitch inning where a run was scored,” said CdM Coach Kevin McCaffrey.
Luc Stuka led the way offensively going 3 for 4 with a walk for the Sea Kings.
He hit a three-run home run, a double and a single.
Reece Berger got on base all four of his at bats and was 1 for 1 with a double and a walk. He was also hit twice by pitches.
Sophomores Nico DiFerdinando and Blake Butcher also had doubles for the Sea Kings (15-7-1, 2-3). CdM is back in league play on Tuesday against Newport Harbor at Newport.
