Laguna Hills standout all-purpose player Mitch Leigber continues to get numerous offers from major college football programs, according to Coach Mike Maceranka.
Leigber (6-1, 200) will be entering his senior year with the Hawks, who move into the Pacific Coast League this season. He is a running back who can catch the ball out of the backfield and also plays strong safety.

“His recruiting is consistent,” Maceranka said Tuesday. “He is hearing from a dozen coaches on average each week which can become quite overwhelming. He is enjoying the process, but he has so many great opportunities it will be tough to choose.
“Last weekend he went on an unofficial visit to Cal, previously he went to UCLA and Notre Dame and he is planning an official visit to Northwestern in May. He currently has offers from five Pac-12 Schools (UCLA, Cal, Arizona, Washington State and Oregon State), six Mountain West Schools (Boise State, San Diego State, Utah State, UNLV, Fresno State and San Jose State), three Ivy League schools (Penn, Dartmouth and Yale) and Northwestern.
“He takes academics very seriously and that will play a big roll in his decision-making process. He is hearing from a ton of other schools and I expect many more offers to come in as spring recruiting picks up again in April and they get on campus and meet him in person.”
A number of other Laguna Hills players are expected to catch the eyes of college coaches.
“Next year is going to be an outstanding recruiting year for the Hawks,” Maceranka said. “We have eight other recruits who will have opportunities to play in college. Most are two-year starters and all have over a 3.5 GPA. Five have over a 4.0 GPA and are getting looks from many of the top Division II and III colleges in the country.
“Quarterback Hayden McKenna is a two-year varsity starter who is getting interest from several Ivy League schools and has a 4.4 GPA. This senior group is strong and went 9-1, 4-0 (Sea View League champions) as a freshman team who is looking to close out their Hawk careers the way they started. We can’t wait for fall.”
