La Habra’s boys basketball team resumed Freeway League play defeating Troy 61-45 Tuesday night at Troy.
The Highlanders (18-2, 3-0) were led by Ja’len Overstreet who had 14 points and four 3-pointers. Dom Pritchett had 13 points and four assists for La Habra.
Trevor Seesemann led Troy (12-9, 1-2) with 12 points.
“Tonight was a big win for what we set out to accomplish this year, which is a league title,” said Coach Aaron Riekenberg. “Beating a very good Troy team at their place is a huge step to achieving that goal. I still have nightmares about losing the league title in this gym a year ago, so to come out in the second half and dominate the way we did, I couldn’t be more proud of our boys.
“Having four guys in double digits just illustrates how what a complete team effort this was tonight.”
