Orange Lutheran High School’s boys volleyball team was 11-1 when high school sports were cancelled.
“Not finishing this year really hurt me as well as my team,” said Coach Henry Valiente, who was in his first full season. “We started with a 11-1 record and we were destined for great things. Not seeing them reach their goals really hit me hard. However, what stands out the most is how understanding they are about this year.
“My team had the makings to do great things this year and had a standout season, but they understand the severity of the situation and don’t complain about it.”
The Lancers won the Foothill Tournament the weekend of Feb. 28- 29 and didn’t lose a set going 7-0.
Trinity League league never started. The Lancers were schedued to play Mater Dei on March 17.
The program honored the four seniors on social media on Monday, May 4. Here are the profiles that were posted on Twitter and provided by Orange Lutheran.
