SEGERSTROM 6, GODINEZ 1: The Jaguars completed a sweep of Godinez this week with a Golden West League victory at Segerstrom. Nic Landeros-Sosa pitched well, allowing only three hits in five scoreless innings and striking out eight. James Ashcraft led the hitting attack, going 2 for 2 with two RBI.
VILLA PARK 10, ESPERANZA 2: The Spartans (14-4) got a strong pitching performance from Benny Vogel, who got the win. Vogel (4-1) pitched 5 1/3 innings, striking out 10 and allowing four hits. Geoff McArthur was 2 for 4 with a double and four RBI, Zach Brown was 1 for 3 with an RBI and Gavin Grahovac 1 for 2 with an RBI.
TRABUCO HILLS 8, SAN JUAN HILLS 3: The Mustangs took the lead in the fifth inning and went on for the victory. Drew Barrett was 3 for 4 with a double and two runs scored, Bobby Gray was 1 for 2 with an RBI, Joey Gray was 2 for 4 with two RBI, Mason Molina was 2 for 3 with two RBI and Tyler Collins was 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Colin McDonald pitched 1 1/3 innings allowing two earned runs. Jordan Brown came on and allowed no earned runs, one hit and struck out three in 5 2/3 innings for the Mustangs (13-3, 3-1).
CANYON 6, EL MODENA 2: The Comanches came from behind to capture the win in eight innings. J.P. Sova pitched five innings and allowed one earned run while striking out eight. He also had the game-winning hit. Cameron Magee got the win in relief and was 3 for 4 with two home runs and four RBI for Canyon (7-11).
TESORO 7, MISSION VIEJO 6: The Titans (9-8, 2-1) rallied for the win to capture the series. Ryan Gow was 3 for 4 with a double, three RBI and also pitched three shutout innings striking out two.
