Fountain Valley’s boys basketball team advanced to the semifinal round of the CIF 3A playoffs, defeating Yorba Linda 61-50 Tuesday night in a quarterfinal round game at Yorba Linda.
The Barons (19-8) were led by Jeremiah Davis with 20 points and Preston Amarillo with 14 points.
Omair Memon scored 14 points, Connor Platt had 13 points and Cory Knutson 11 points for Yorba Linda (18-13).
Fountain Valley held a 29-24 lead at halftime and outscored Yorba Linda 23-14 in the final quarter to seal the win.
Fountain Valley moves on to face Shadow Hills in the semifinals Friday night at Shadown Hills. Shadow Hills defeated Simi Valley 60-54.
