Foothill High School’s football team captured first place at the inaugural Air Raid Tournament hosted by El Toro by finishing with a 5-0 record Saturday.
Quarterback Gino Marchetti (6-5, 200) led the Knights, according to Coach Doug Case.
“All of the athletes performed well. The leading wide receivers were Nico Mancini, Rico Reynoso, Junior Martinez, Luke Smith, Lukas Reinberger, Mike Galey, Troy Naulty and Nate Gouvion.
“Defensively, linebackers Che Krudwig, Brady Holcomb, and Nick Cadena did a great job. The secondary was amazing led by Alek Camaj, AJ Arrazola, Sean Arenas, Nico Gonzalez and Paxton Patterson.”
Case said he was pleased with the effort of his team.
“The kids played great,” he said. “I was proud of their enthusiasm, discipline and conditioning. We have worked hard in the off-season and are ready for a great year.
The squad travels to Huntington Beach this Saturday for a passing and line competition.
