Five Orange County football teams have earned berths in the CIF 2021 Regional Championship Bowl Games, it was announced Sunday.
OPEN DIVISION
Division 1 winner Mater Dei will play North representative Serra of San Mateo in the state championship game on Saturday, Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. at Saddleback College. The Monarchs defeated Servite 27-7 Friday night in the title game.
DIVSION 1AA
Cathedral Catholic vs. Orange Lutheran at Orange Coast College, Friday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. Orange Lutheran defeated Alemany 38-35 Saturday to win the Division 2 crown.
DIVISION 3AA
Newport Harbor at Aquinas, Friday, Dec. 3, 6 p.m. Newport Harbor won the Division 6 title defeating Temecula Valley 42-35 Saturday night.
DIVISION 5A
Righetti vs. Northwood at Irvine Stadium, Saturday, Dec. 4, 6 p.m. Northwood won its first CIF title defeating Long Beach Jordan 37-14 Friday night in the CIF Division 11 title game.
DIVISION 7AA
Loara at Morro Bay, Friday, Dec. 3, 6 p.m. Loara won the CIF Division 14 title defeating Rialto 14-12.
TICKET INFO
Offcials said that tickets for the 2021 CIF Regional Football Championship Bowl Games are available online only through CIF’s ticketing partner GoFan. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for high school students, seniors 65 and older and children five and older. Two tickets would be required to attend at least one game on each day.
The winners of this weekend’s games advance to the finals the following weekend, with the higher divisions (open, 1AA, 1A) and 2AA) at Saddleback College and the others at the Northern Division home site locations.
