Estancia High School’s star pitcher Andrew Mits made his college commitment this week to play baseball for Concordia University in Nebraska, Eagles Coach Nate Goellrich said Thursday.
“Concordia is a great NAIA program and this is a great fit for Andrew. The school culture and academics were important and Concordia provides that,” Goellrich said.
“Andrew has had a great career at Estancia; he was a key member of our CIF championship team and was awarded CIF Player of the Year for Division 6 in 2022. Last year, his numbers were just as great on the mound and he was awarded Orange Coast League Pitcher of the Year along with CIF first team and a member of the CBCA All State Baseball team. Andrew has a tremendous work ethic and his love for the game of baseball is infectious. It has been a pleasure coaching Andrew these three years.”
Mits, a senior, still has one more year of baseball with the Eagles.
