Cypress High’s baseball team, ranked No. 1 in the county and tops in CIF Division 1, defeated Pacifica 2-1 on Tuesday afternoon in the Empire League opener.
Cameron Repetti threw a complete game for Cypress (11-1, 1-0).
Jovanny Reyes threw a complete game for Pacifica (5-7, 0-1) and had five strikeouts.

Woodbridge 9, University 0: The Warriors (5-6, 1-3) were led by Grant Martine who was 4 for 4 with a double, three RBI and two stolen bases; Matt Budgell, who was 3 for 4 with two doubles and a stolen base and Matt Spear, who was 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBI
Aanan Ramanthan pitched the first four innings for the Warriors, allowing three hits and striking out five to get the victory in the Pacific Coast League game.
Connor Tallakson pitched the final three innings, allowing two hits.
Loara 27, Santiago 3: The Saxons (4-5, 3-0) scored 16 runs in the second inning to break the Garden Grove League game open.
Jacob Mendoza was 3 for 6 with two home runs, two doubles and six RBI to lead the way. Pat Monroe was 3 for 4 with a home run for the Saxons.
