Cypress boys basketball team celebrates after winning the Coyota Classic.
Cypress boys basketball team rallied from an 11-point deficit after one quarter to defeat Tesoro 61-56 and capture the championship of the Coyote Classic Saturday night at Buena Park.
Jared Brown scored 19 points, Clifton Patterson had 14 points and Travis Degener and Anthony Tello had 7 points each to lead the Centurions (6-1).
Brown and Tello were named to the all-tournament team.
Tesoro was led by Matt DeAngelo with 16 points, Noah Honetschlager with 11 points and Tyler Broughton with 10 points. DeAngelo and Honetschlager were named to the all-tournament team.
Cypress came back after trailing 14-3 after the first quarter.
