Cypress and Crean Lutheran remain tied for lead; Woodbridge, Northwood, Beckman, Mater Dei and Yorba Linda also win

CYPRESS 51, KENNEDY 38: The Centurions remained tied with Crean Lutheran atop the Empire League. The teams play Friday at Cypress in a battle for first place in the league.

“It was a balanced attack for Cypress scoring wise as nobody scored over 10 points,” said Cypress Coach Derek Mitchell.

Christian Chai scored nine points and Ethan Salao, Jonas Hanson and KV Singh had eight points each to lead Cypress (5-3, 3-0).

Kennedy was led by Elijah Gayton with 10 points and Joseph Yoo with seven points.

CREAN LUTHERAN 69, VALENCIA 39: The Saints (5-1, 3-0) won their third game in a row in Empire League play. Jack Fairchild scored 16 points, grabbed five rebounds and had five assists, Mike Birket had 14 points and Koat Keat had 13 points, 12 rebounds and two assists to lead Crean Lutheran.

WOODBRIDGE 46, LAGUNA HILLS 39: The Warriors (6-3, 5-1) were led by Marty Jaisel, who scored 15 points, Nygle Williams, who had 10 points and Eli Hill, who had eight points.

Laguna Hills (4-4, 3-3) was led by David Moon with 16 points and Vaughn Rowan, who had eight points.

NORTHWOOD 75, UNIVERSITY 56: The Timberwolves (4-2 in the PCL) were led by Emon Farsoni, who scored 25 points. Amit Flint had 18 points and Devon Huong 15 points.

BECKMAN 72, PORTOLA 61: The Patriots Beckman (5-4, 5-1) were led by Jake Morrison, who scored 26 points. Dowon Kim and Ethan Bozzo each scored 15 points and Elijah Bunney 10 points for Beckman.

Portola (5-4, 3-3) was led by Tyler Huang and Colin Huang, who had 17 points each.

MATER DEI 64, ST. MARGARET’S 48: Wilhelm Breindenbach led the Monarchs with 13 points and four rebounds in the non-league game. Zack Davidson had nine points and Zac Van Den Heuvel had nine points. Mater Dei (12-0) plays Servite Wednesday night at 6:30 at Servite.

YORBA LINDA 75, EL MODENA 49: Yorba Linda was led by Jason Casacchia, who scored 15 points and Jaylen Harvey, who scored scored 10 points. El Modena was led by Zeke Iribe, who had 27 points.
