Crean Lutheran’s post-season run came to an end Thursday night when the Saints lost to No. 2 seeded Palisades 54-42 in the second round of the CIF Southern California Division II Regional Playoffs at Palisades.
The game was tied 10-10 after one quarter but Palisades took the lead at halftime, outscoring the Saints 16-9 in the second quarter.
Tenth-seeded Crean Lutheran, the CIF 3AA runner-up, finished the season 28-6.
“The girls fought hard all season,” Coach Bianca Ziemann said Friday. “Despite this tough loss last night we are so proud of this team and all the successes they had. We owe it all to Jesus and we are beyond thankful for the support from family, friends, students, faculty, staff and administration.”
Taylor Feldman led Crean Lutheran with 12 points, four rebounds and two steals. Shannon O’Malley had eight points and five rebounds. Trinity Cha had three points, four rebounds, three steals and took one charge and Hailee Daniel had eight points and 13 rebounds.
Crean Lutheran opened the regional with a 45-42 upset over No. 7 Bishop Amat on Tuesday.
