MATER DEI 88, LA MIRADA 79: The No. 16-seeded Monarchs (21-15) defeated top seeded La Mirada in the opening round Tuesday at La Mirada. Zain Majeed had 31 points and six rebounds, Luke Barnett had 26 points and six 3-pointers and six rebounds and Richie Ramirez 24 points and eight rebounds. The Monarchs will play at JSerra Thursday in the second round.
JSERRA 60, FRANCIS PARKER 59: The Lions, who lost to Crean Lutheran in the CIF Division 1 final, notched a win on the road Tuesday. Senior Jaden Bailes led JSerra (24-13) with 23 points. Godschoice Eboigbodin had 14 points and Earl Bryson 11 points and four assists. The Lions host Trinity League rival Mater Dei Thursday night.

DIVISION III
TRABUCO HILLS 55, EL CAMINO REAL 47: Ryan Hull had 28 points, four assists and two steals and Carter Peckson 11 points to lead Trabuco Hills (21-13). The Mustangs move on to play at Birmingham in the second round Thursday.
DIVISION IV
SAN JUAN HILLS 64, PACIFIC RIDGE 57: Rocco Jensen had 23 points and Garrett Brehmer 15 points to lead San Juan Hills (18-14). Nicholas Panids added 12 points. The No. 3-seeded Stallions move on to face No. 11 Venice Thursday night in the second round at home.
