SAGE HILL 67, WESTCHESTER 35: No. 2-seeded Sage Hill opened up a 16-2 lead six minutes into the game and never looked back cruising to a home win over No. 15-seed Westchester.
Sage Hill committed 21 turnovers while only forcing 11, but played tough defense limiting Westchester to just 20 percent on field goal attempts. Sage Hill made a stellar 50 percent of its shots.
Junior point guard Amalia Holguin put on a show for the home crowd with 16 points, eight rebounds, nine assists and three steals. Sophomore forward Kamdyn Klamberg also scored 16 points to go along with five rebounds. Freshman forward Addison Uphoff contributed 12 points, five rebounds and three blocks.
The Westchester Comets (22-8) were led by senior guard Reigne Waugh with 16 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore guard Savannah Myles finished with 12 points and seven rebounds.
The Sage Hill Lightning improved to 20-11 will host No. 7 Moreno Valley in the second round Thursday.
