VILLA PARK 5, GRANITE HILLS 4 (9 innings): Coach Burt Call’s Spartans won on the road Tuesday defeating previously undefeated Granite Hills (24-1-2), which was undefeated at home. Nate Lewis led the way, going 4 for 5 with a double and three RBI and threw out a runner who was trying to score the winning run in the eighth inning. Logan Hoppie earned the win in relief. Aidan Young was 2 for 4 with a home run and an RBI and Val Lopez 3 for 4 with a run scored.
Both teams had 12 hits in the game.
No. 5-seeded Villa Park (25-7). plays at top-seeded St. John Bosco in the second round Thursday at 4 p.m. St. John Bosco advanced with a 2-1 victory over St. Augustine.

Santa Margarita vs. Patrick Henry: Game suspended after three innings due to weather and will be made up Wednesday at noon at Santa Margarita.
DIVISION II
Fountain Valley vs. Rancho Bernardo: Game suspended after one inning with top-seeded Fountain Valley leading 2-1. It will be resumed Wednesday at 3:15 p.m.
DIVISION IV
Estancia vs. Mary Star of the Sea: Game suspended in the second inning with Estancia leading 1-0. It will be resumed Wednesday at 3:45 p.m. at Estancia.
