Villa Park 3, Ayala 2: Brandon Luu (6-2) got the win in relief for the Spartans. Luu committed this week to play baseball at UCI. Tyler Gordon was 3 for 4 with a run scored and the game-winning RBI, Zach Brown was 1 for 3 with two RBI, Gavin Grahovac was 1 for 4, Geoff McArthur was 1 for 3 and Britton Beeson was 1 for 2. Villa Park (25-4) plays at San Dimas Tuesday.

Servite 3, Corona del Mar 2: Mikiah Negrete pitched a complete game, striking out 11 (a career high) and allowing five hits and two runs. Trevor Schmidt, Negrete and Camden Clewett all had RBI for the Friars (18-10). CdM finished the season 18-11.

Woodbridge 6, Saugus 0: Sean McCance threw a shutout and notched his first complete game to lead the fourth-seeded Warriors to a win. Click here for story.
Kaiser 5, Irvine 4: Irvine (10-18) came up short in its bid to defeat the No. 2 seeded Kaiser team on the road. Tate Zimmerman was 1 for 2 with a home run and two walks and Mihir Dodia was 1 for 3 with a run scored. Joon Lee pitched the first 5 2/3 innings before being relieved by Caden Shaffer.
Newport Harbor 7, San Clemente 1: The Sailors (17-11) were led by Trent Liolios who pitched six innings, allowing two hits and no earned runs while striking out 11. Joey Wright pitched one scoreless inning, striking out.
Wright was also also 3 for 3 with a double and three RBI. Liolios was 1 for 4 with two RBI, AJ Guitron-Moore was 1 for 2, Lucas Perez was 1 for 3 with a double and Jack Morris was 1 for 3 with two runs scored.

Sunny Hills 5, Apple Valley 4: The Lancers won their opener in extra innings after an RBI single from Bodhi Faulkner in the bottom of the eighth.
Northwood 6, Brea Olinda 3: The Timberwolves rallied with five runs in the sixth inning to advance into the second round. Click here for story.
Tustin 1, Oxford Academy 0: UC Irvine commit Riley Kelly pitched the first six innings, striking out 17 to get the win for the Tillers (17-10). Kelly allowed two hits. Cal State Dominguez Hills commit Tyler Sandhu got the save with one inning of work allowing one hit and striking out one, said Coach Ben Owens. In the fifth inning, Andrew Olsen led off with a walk and stole second base. Hayden Jordan then bunted for a basse hit to put runners on first and third. Raul de la Riva drove in a run with a safety sacrifice bunt. Tustin plays at Knight Tuesday in the second round.
