Woodbridge High’s football team heads to Catalina this weekend for its annual excursion to wrap up its summer session in preparation for a challenging 2019 schedule.
The Warriors open the season on Friday, Aug. 23, hosting Newport Harbor at University.
“(Woodbridge has) two Sunset League teams along with CIF qualifiers with the other three opponents,” said Woodbridge Coach Rick Gibson. “Newport Harbor replaces Cypress. I feel our schedule is very competitive with hopes it will prepare us for the PCL and hopefully further.”
The Warriors begin Pacific Coast League play on Friday, Oct. 4 against Irvine at University.
Woodbridge was 7-4 overall last year and won the Pacific Coast League with a 5-0 record while also capturing the Dennis Toohey Fence Post Trophy.
Woodbridge lost to Temecula Valley 42-17 in the opening round of the CIF playoffs.
