Corona del Mar’s baseball team defeated Arrowhead Christian 4-0 in a Newport Elks Tournament game Thursday afternoon at CdM.
Sophomore starter Stevie Jones (2-0) threw a complete game allowing only three hits while striking out five. Jones and Jackson McDonald had big RBI hits for the Sea Kings (3-1).
“Stevie was really good today,” said CdM Coach Kevin McCaffrey. “He did not have his good stuff but he competed. He threw strikes and trusted our defense. He has now thrown 19 innings and has not allowed an earned run.”
