Corona del Mar’s boys basketball team avenged a first round loss to Newport Harbor defeating the Sea Kings 59-42 in a Surf League game Wednesday night at CdM.
CdM (16-9, 1-3) was led by Jack Stone, who scored 30 points and made four 3-pointers. Matt Decrona added nine points for the Sea Kings.
Robbie Spooner scored 18 points to lead Newport Harbor (21-5, 3-1).
San Juan Hills 59, Laguna Hills 33: The Stallions improved their record to 4-1 in Sea View League play behind an 18-point effort by Mark Reichner.
Tesoro 85, El Toro 63: The Titans got their 19th victory of the season, jumping out to a 49-23 lead at halftime. Mike Mahlen had 41 points, making 10 3-pointers. Chris Allen scored 14 points, Kaden Garrett had 13 points and six assists and Matt DeAngelo scored nine points and had six assists for the Titans, 5-1 in league.
Pacifica Christian 79, Linfield Christian 61: The Huskies (17-5) were led by Judah Brown with 25 points and 11 rebounds, Josh Sims with 12 points, Charles Erving with 12 points and Houston Mallette with five points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds.
