Corona del Mar High School senior quarterback David Rasor is looking for another big season to cap his career at the school.
Rasor, the Sunset League offensive back of the season last year, is also pondering what’s in store for the future as he considers offers from college teams.
“Right now I have a few offers and I’m looking to commit before the season,” Rasor said Friday. “But we’ll see how the timing works out.”
The 6-1 Rasor said that San Diego State, University of Pennsylvania, UC Davis and Washington State are among the programs that have expressed an interest in him, he added.
“David is poised to be a three-year starter for us,” said Sea Kings coach Dan O’Shea, who was impressed with Rasor’s performance at the Battle of the Bay tournament when Rasor led the Sea Kings to the championship.
CdM teams are 23-5 with Rasor calling signals. In 2021, he had 42 total touchdowns (eight rushing and 34 passing) for 2,365 yards.
In the summer tournament last weekend, Rasor enjoyed considerable success and credited receivers Cooper Hoch, Russell Weir and Trent Merriman for their outstanding play.
Rasor is hoping to continue the success the rest of the summer, then lead CdM to another successful season.
“It’s going to be a good one,” Rasor said. “The keys are going to be taking our time moving the ball down the field and the explosive plays and just playing our game and trusting the process.”
