Corona del Mar High School’s talented senior quarterback David Rasor made it official Saturday and announced on Twitter he has committed to play college football for UC Davis.
CdM Coach Dan O’Shea confirmed Rasor’s decision.
Rasor said in an interview with OC Sports Zone last month that he hoped to make the decision before the start of the football season. Rasor said that San Diego State, University of Pennsylvania, UC Davis and Washington State football programs had shown an interest in him.
In his announcement on Twitter, Rasor said he wanted to thank “the Lord for all of the talents and drive He has blessed me with and the way that He has shaped my path and life.”
Rasor said he has received a full-ride Division 1 athletic scholarship.
He also thanked his family, the UC Davis coaches and O’Shea and his Sea King teammates.
“I feel like I already have a family and a home at Davis and I couldn’t be more excited to be an Aggie. Thank you to CdM football and all my teammates for supporting me and making me better every day. Thank you Coach O’Shea and Coach Hettig for developing me into the football player that I am today.”
CdM teams are 23-5 with Rasor calling signals. In 2021, the 6-1 Rasor had 42 total touchdowns (eight rushing and 34 passing) for 2,365 yards. He was the Sunset League offensive player of the year last season.
