CORONA DEL MAR 7, MARINA 3: The Sea Kings opened up Surf League play with a 7-3 victory Friday over Marina. Jack Bolt (3-2) went 6 1/3 innings striking out 11 to earn the victory.
Ethan Watson and Charlie Mannon both homered for CDM. Dillon Gomez was 3 for 4 and Van Sidebotham was 2 for 3 with a walk. CdM is 7-6 overall.
CdM and Newport Harbor will kick off their Battle of the Bay series on Wednesday, March 23Â at CdM at 3:15 p.m.
NORTHWOOD 7, LAGUNA HILLS 2: The Timberwolves won a Pacific Coast League game Friday.
Winning pitcher was Casey Euper who did not allow an earned run in five innings. Andres Hernandez came on to pitch two innings to close out the win for Northwood (3-8, 3-4).
Rylan Littlejohn was 2 for 4 with two RBI, Ahmad Kazi was 2 for 3 with an RBI and two runs scored, Adam Harper was 2 for 4 with an RBI and two doubles and Jon Cilderman was 1 for 3 with three RBI.
The teams play again Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the Great Park.
FOOTHILL 9, CANYON 5: The Knights (9-4, 1-0) got back into the win column Friday. Garrett Davidson was 3 for 4 with a run scored, two RBI, a home run and a stolen base, Mason Souter was 2 for 4 with a double, run scored and an RBI, Brett Castillo was 2 for 3 with two RBI and Isaac Sandoval was 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI.
Andrew Parker pitched the first five innings to get the win, allowing five hits.
TRABUCO HILLS 8, SAN JUAN HILLS 1: The Mustangs (9-2, 1-0) were led by Bobby Gray, who was 2 for 4 with a double, home run and five RBI; Will Burns, who was 3 for 3 with three doubles; Nick Perez, who was 2 for 3 and Joey Gray, who was 1 for 2 with an RBI.
Colin McDonald pitched 5 2/3 inning,, allowing one earned run to get the win.
SAN CLEMENTE 8, TUSTIN 4: The Tritons (5-4) earned a nonleague victory at home Friday. Hayden Dill went the distance, striking out six. Brock Della Vedova had a double in the fifth inning to help the Tritons tie the game 3-3, then San Clemente scored five runs in the sixth inning.
