Beckman’s baseball team, which already clinched the Pacific Coast League title, defeated University 12-4 on Tuesday at Beckman.

CJ Burnette hit a grand slam in the first inning for the Patriots (21-4, 13-1). The Patriots led 9-0 after one inning.
“We played really well,” said Beckman Coach Kevin Lavalle. “Every player on the roster got a chance to play, and that always makes me happy.
“Our goal is to get better every day, and it feels like we did that today. Thursday will be a challenge, and I know the boys are excited about that.”
University (10-15, 5-9) was led by Patrick Dahlin, who hit his first home run of the season.
The teams play again on Thursday at Uni.
