Beckman High’s baseball team defeated Ontario Christian 4-3 Wednesday afternoon to move into the championship game of the Brian Hamilton Tournament in Chino Saturday at 2 p.m.
The Patriots (4-2) will play Chino High School at Chino.
Ricky Suzuki pitched the first three innings, allowing one hit to earn his first win. Nick McLain recorded his fourth save in four games for the Patriots, who have won four in a row.
Nolan Han singled in the second inning to give Beckman a 1-0 lead. In the fourth inning, Ontario Christian scored three runs without a hit.
But Beckman answered back in the fifth inning. Cooper Munro singled in Josh Tamura and McLain. Munro was 2 for 3 on the day with two RBI.
Portola 13, Santa Ana 5: Portola was led by Patrick Connelly, who got the victory in the Newport Elks Tournament game. He pitched five innings, striking out six and also went 3 for 4 with five RBI. Tyler Sylvester was 2 for 3 with three RBI for Portola (4-2).
