Beckman’s football team will be out to bounce back from Saturday’s 14-0 home loss to South Torrance when it faces Valley Christian Friday night in Cerritos.
“The defense was tremendous, racking up five quarterback sacks and five tackles for loss,” Beckman Coach Marcello Giuliano said of Beckman’s effort Saturday at Tustin.
“Led by Alven Hsu, the defensive front pressured the South backfield all night. The secondary stepped up to contain a very good pass attack with Aiden Fordyce totaling seven lead tackles.
“Unfortunately, untimely errors by the special teams and the offense prevented the Patriots from cashing in on the defensive performance.”
Giuliano said the Patriots (1-1) should be able to learn from the game.
“Nevertheless, it was a valuable game played against a quality program and we look forward to implementing the lessons learned,” he said.
Beckman is now preparing for Valley Christian.
“We will need to defend a potent no-huddle offense and take on a defense that is coming off a shut-out in their last outing,” he said.
