Beckman and Woodbridge baseball teams remain tied for first place in PCL

The Pacific Coast League baseball race is going down to the final day of the regular season.

Beckman defeated Northwood 2-1 at Patriot Park and Woodbridge topped Laguna Hills 5-2 on the road to remain tied for first place in the league.

Beckman (20-7, 14-3) plays at Northwood Thursday while Woodbridge (20-7, 14-3) hosts Laguna Hills at Ryan Lemmon Stadium. Both games are scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

Beckman got a strong pitching effort from Jackson Snitko, who pitched 6 2/3 innings allowing six hits and striking out four to improve his record to 4-2. Ashton Kanegae came up to record the save for Coach Kevin Lavalle’s Patriots.

Cameron Do Khanh was 1 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored to lead Beckman.

Woodbridge got solid pitching from Dylan Blakey, who pitched three innings allowing one run and striking out three and Justin Durby, who pitched four innings, allowing one run and striking out one.

Matt Kuromoto had two hits and an RBI, Kyler Collver had two hits and an RBI, Anthony De Marco had two hits and an RBI, Nate Perry had a hit and an RBI and Chase Quezeda had a hit and an RBI.
